Having announced just a few days ago that S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat would launch in February, developer GSC Game World and publishers bitComposer Games and Viva Media have followed up their announcement with a specific U.S. release date: February 2.

Call of Pripyat is the true sequel to the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, picking up where that game left off (Clear Sky was set before the events of the first game). As the title suggests, the game will take the player into the city of Pripyat, Ukraine. What exactly the city's "call" is remains to be discovered, other than perhaps the fact that games featuring the call of something tend to sell pretty well.

Sounds intriguing. The first game was pretty interesting overall combining fiction with reality.
