The "What Should I do With My Games?" Thread

Last June I traded in my three year old Xbox 360 and games towards a PS3. Right now I'm starting to wish I had a 360 to play games on. Even though I have my PS3, I don't really use it often due to most games not feeling right with the PS3's controller and some quality issues with the graphics and online play. However I don't want to get rid of everything because there are some PS3 games I enjoy, and I have a PSP which would feel silly not to have a PS3 to go with it (adhoc party mostly).

I've built up a somewhat small collection of PS3 games: 29 Games total, 20 that are Multiplatform/Nonexclusive, and 9 that are exclusive to the PS3. My goal is to sell the games that I would be better off playing on a 360 and raise enough money for a 360 Arcade. The ultimate goal would be getting an Elite System, but I highly doubt I'd get $300 for 20 games.

The reason I wouldn't sell these games is that they, to me, feel binded to my system via trophies. I've played these games and maybe gotten one or more trophies, and are listed on my PSN profile. I've always been one to try and get all the achievements in a game, so having a game with one trophy on my PSN account while not owning said game for the PS3 would feel weird. One game though has sorta pushed me to not worry about it: Warhawk (Host a game for FOUR hours straight? Really? REALLY?)

I happen to have a spare working PSP system that's not in use that could also help with this situation. I also have a DSi that doesn't get much use, but I kind of want to keep it, though I would be willing to sell it if it would get me that much closer to an Elite System.

tl;dr Should I trade in/sell about 20 PS3 Games, a PSP system and a DSi towards the purchase of a 360 Arcade/Elite that I would rather play said games on?

My tip for you is ... Get a job!
My other tip for you is to sit down think this stuff through and try to see if you can find an xbox 360 bundle with some games etc. Buying a used one wouldn'y be bad either! I say sell your games as a final solution!

First of all, it depends on the games you want to sell. If you could list them, then I think that would give us a better idea of what you're trying to do. But I guess if you want to sell them that's fine, though I never really trade in games myself. And as far as the PS3 is concerned, the controller is not that bad and I think the system is great overall. But just let us know what games you plan on selling so we know what boat you're in. And McNissen on the whole job thing: It's not easy to find a job. Just saying.

I honestly don't think 20 games is going to get you very close to a system especially if you're looking towards the Elite. I think I traded in about twenty games to pre-order the collectors edition of AC: 2, although some of the games were very old I didn't feel like I got nearly enough back to make it worth trading in the games. The only thing with me was I never played the games so I could deal with selling em for 1-5 dollars or so cause it was just extra money for a game I never played. So I agree with stealth, sit down maybe see what they'll give you for your games and ask yourself if it's really worth it

I will never trade in a game again, unless i am 100% super extremely certain that I will never want to play it again, to many games i have traded in and now I desperately want them back, sadly, i have to go find them now.
