I always buy/rent my movies. I like to have a physical copy of everything.
Awesome job mortalized! Thank you man <3

I download, rent & buy. I usually must preview a movie before I decide to actually pay for anything, there is very little blind buying I do. If I am going to fund a greedy film production company I need to know I will be getting my money's worth and be getting a damned good movie.
I don't really buy them, I just get it through Netflix and watch it. I am not really a movie junkie, so I don't really buy DVD unless they are really cheap at the flea market.

Like agff said, I have to have a hardcopy. The thing that annoys me with downloading movies/music/etc. is that you generally lose it for good come the time you have to reformat your computer or something happens to your harddrive, and they charge you full price (or now in Apple's case a replacement fee).

I'm pretty surprised at the answers. Downloading is the future boys and girls, I just can't stand hard copies. If you have 100 DVD's you know how much room that takes? I'm an absolute movie junkie. I've easily watched over 1,000 movies. Do you know how much room that many DVD cases takes up? Where as if I put it into digital format, I can store all those movies in hard drives. Even if I buy a disc, it usually gets put into or downloaded for a digital copy also. There is NO reason I should have to take up so much space on DVD cases when I can view it all on my computer screen, and view it from there(or stream it right to my TV).
Downloading takes a long time for blu-ray because A) America's internet speed is not nearly as fast as it should be, and we are far from the leaders of the world in this department. B) Because most sites and movies are not setup properly to be downloaded in the best quality or at the best speeds. and C) Because it's a huge file!
It takes less than a day to download an entire blu-ray movie. Sure, driving to the store and back is going to take less time but who cares? It's still more convenient and not that long if it's downloaded on demand. In future days with better internet speeds we'll all laugh at DVD's.
Digital Digital Digital. Digital movies, digital music, if I can store it digitally I will. If it's important that I'm afraid of losing it, it's simple to make a backup.
I have enough clutter, there's no need for me to have hundreds of DVD cases and hundreds of CD's.
I'm sorry to say, but it's why pirating will never die. I honestly do pay for MOST of my movies, but they put simplicity into digital storage where companies themselves are unwilling to do. That's the main facet of pirating that's overlooked. It's not because everyone is wanting their movie for free....it's because....

I will always take the physical form. Download is still too risky. Too many things that could go wrong. Also, don't want my whole Movie collection to be on one item lol.

Well not only that, my friends and I have a movie circle going on where we exchange movies throughout the month to ensure that everybody sees a new release or an amazing classic flick that nobody has seen. Granted, digital copies would take up less room, but I'm a junkie for wanting to watch my movies everywhere and honestly, lugging around my laptop is far more inconvenient than lugging around a small case. Although, it would save me the problem of having to alphabetize my 200+ dvds.
