Hell yes King's Game.
Yeah, it sounds very confusing. Then again, I shouldn't expect much from a drama-filled romance of vampires, werewolf's and lions, oh my! I'm going to go see it tomorrow, even though I'm not as excited. Thanks for the review Greg. I'll be sure to keep an eye out for the things you mentioned.
I wouldn't even watch it with girlfriends, I despise the twilight series. Great review though, but GAWD DEATH TO ALL VAMPIRES![]()
Takes your breath away, doesn't it?
I seriously despise and HATE the Twilight series with a passion, both the book series and the movies! I'd like to find Stephenie Meyer just so I can punch her in the baby maker for coming up with this garbage!
"sparkly vampires" that don't go along with the traditional vampire fiction that has been established and imprinted firmly in our minds ever since the 1931 movie version of Dracula just absolutely goes against everything that Bram Stoker had laid out in his novel of the same name.
And what's the biggest culprit of all this "sparkly vampire" bullshit?, the young adults, mostly the female teens, tweens and young adults!![]()

I have absolutely no intention of wanting to see this piece of garbage movie or read any of the books because they are both absolutely nothing but an awful abomination and blight on everything that goes along with the traditional vampires that we've grown accustomed to in fiction throughout the years!
I saw the first movie and it wasnt that bad, just not my type of movie, plus the story is not that appealing to me.
I am still not sure if I will go see this movie. Not sure yet :/
Great review as always greg! Thumbs up for your no thumbs![]()

Great review Greg. I'm guessing you didn't read the books because a couple of your comments seem a little misunderstood. Jasper (the vampire who attempts to attack Bella in the beginning) is actually fairly new to the family and his self-control isn't at 100% yet and the reaction was purely accidental. By the time the gash has happened to Bella's arm he's beginning to come back to his senses.
Also, with Edward leaving. They didn't do a good job with explaining it really in the movie, but it wasn't over the accident at the house. They move mostly because the "father" of the family, Carlisle, is acting an age he doesn't look so they must relocate to avoid suspicion. And Dakota Fanning's character, Jane, isn't supposed to speak much. In the book it's described how her few words manage to invoke a sort of fear and power from her.
But other than that, your review was really good. I honestly thought you might be one of those big anti-Twilight people. I used to be that way until my fiancée managed to get me to read the books. They aren't that bad and the movie does a really good job at keeping close to the original story (a little better than the Harry Potter movies have been doing lately tbh). But I agree with you, it's a good movie. It's not going to convert those anti-Twilight people, but if you're looking for a good romance story then it does a job well done.
It was okay, I think if we had Pirate Radio out here I would have seen that but I enjoyed this film anyways so I was happy about that.
Enjoy the movie Labtech (hopefully).
Thanks stealth, unless you are a Twilight fan there is no need to rush to the theater. Thanks for the comment, a post fiend you are.
I can see someone despising the vampires in this movie, but when it comes down to trying to kill all vampires I think you would have a lot of trouble with Bram Stoker's Dracula who is arguably one of the most violent and destructive vampires in film and literature of whom I love and you should love too.
It most certainly is, but from a production company's standpoint the hype means a lot more sales, thank you for the comment Froodge.
I didn't hate it, the problem I had with the first film was solved with more violence and the Voltari are just awesome.
Ha, thanks agff, I have got to keep everyone in mind when reviewing these movies.
My my, that is one long comment you've got there Extric, let's see if I can tackle it.
No, I didn't read the books and I did understand that he was new to the family, my argument is that he flips out and the sight and smell of a paper cut, but he regains his calm when she is gushing blood out of her bicep which is quite the leap of faith for the audience to take in believability.
Ah, I did notice about a sentence being explained but I guess it had not stuck with me, thank you for clearing that up, it didn't seem right. In terms of Jane, she added nothing to the film even if she was written like an extra originally, these days trying to get away with the silent lone ranger is hard, especially with no frame of reference as to where this character came from or any kind of character development, which there was none of for Dakota Fanning's highly underwritten character. It is plain old bad character creation and should have been better written.
No I am not anti-Twilight person, but I can understand their position, these are happy go lucky vampires in comparison to vampires like Bram Stoker's Dracula, the 30 Days of Night vampire gang, the young girl from Let The Right One In and the list goes on. I think what the main thing that repulses people from this movie is that this is the least violent and vampire-feeling film because the old anit-thesis's of vampires are not included in this franchise like death by sunlight, hatred towards garlic and religious symbols.
"An Achilles’ heel is a fatal weakness in spite of overall strength" and should be apparent with any super powerful being including the monsters in these movies, but can't be because they aren't written that way.
Thanks for the comment Extric, with that long of a comment I am always wary if you'll bite my head off my in the Transformers review, but I am very happily surprised.
