Pete Docter's "Up" is a magical adventure into the wilds of South America that will please all who see it for years to come. The unassuming Carl Fredricksen (voiced by Edward Asner) was born for adventure, and after a lifetime of dreaming of a trip to South America with his wife Ellie, he hatches a plan. A life of working a balloon stand has given him the key to travel, a house rigged of thousands of helium filled balloons. Little does he know the amazing adventure of a lifetime will take him to heights he could have never imagined on his trip to the jungles of South America.
This film is a glorious achievement in visual beauty, absolute heart and adventure. The colors used in the film were incredibly beautiful and set Carl Fredricksen in a magical world that pleases the eye to no end. I often found myself simply over analyzing the visuals of the film because of how incredibly beautiful the color usage really was.
This film is also incredibly loaded with heart, the beginning sequence of the film between Carl & his wife Ellie and the silent sequence of them growing up together is beautiful. Such amazing heart is rarely seen in animated films and Disney went all out in this film to make you fall in love with it.
Finally, the grand scale of adventure throw us all into a world of mystery, fun and wild action. It leaves the audience feeling fulfilled in the same fashion of the Indiana Jones films, it is a true wonder.
I give this film two huge thumbs up and recommend to all the movie goers ready for an adventure that they won't forget. This will be one of the most heartfelt films you will ever see.

I'm thinking about going to see this either tomorrow or Monday. I'm a major fan of Disney-Pixar.
The amazing thing about Pixar is the fact that with every film that they make, they always seem to capture the human aspect of things and give touching messages to everyone! Pixar knows what the people want, and Up is one of those films that has a touching message too. I'll need to see this at some point...
Great review Greg. Definitely will watch this when it comes to Netflix many many months later.
This movie was amazing. I loved it from the beginning to the end and is just pure classic Disney-Pixar goodness. I really believe that this one ranks up there with Toy Story and has become my favorite D-P movie so far.
Never heard of this movie, great review Greg!
