Thread: What is the Multiplayer Marathon?

The Multiplayer Marathon is GameOn's annual event to raise money for charity by playing ONLY multiplayer games with our community for 36 hours straight. The games are played by a variety of GameOn casters and we invite anyone and everyone to join in, watch, and consider donating to an excellent cause.

Our fifth Multiplayer Marathon event starts at 9pm Eastern on the GameOn Live page found here: GameOn Forums - The Gamers Hangout - Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, PC, Steam - Live Page

All donations you make go directly to Child's Play. We've raised over in total $20,000 for charity over the past four marathons.

You can find a wealth of other information in the Multiplayer Marathon section of the forums here: Multiplayer Marathon! Everything from whose casting, what games will be played, and our famous milestones can be found there.

When we reach certain milestones of donations (ex. $500, $1000, etc.) it will trigger special events and activities during the marathon. These usually range from silly to wild to super weird.

Participation may vary by caster, but there are always casters and community members who stick out the entire 36 hours, and sometimes more.

Multiplayer Marathon 2 was 48 hours long - while it completed very successfully - its length taught an important lesson - stick to 36!

• Linking to the event on Facebook
• Linking to the event on Twitter
• Emailing your favorite gaming blog or news site
• Submitting or voting up articles about us on sites like Reddit.com
• Telling friends at school, work, and in other gaming communities you hang out in
• Anything else you can think of to let people know!

While donating is great, you don't have to donate to join in and show the support, so spend a weekend with us as we look to conquer Multiplayer Marathon 5 together!
