Thread: BlackBox

This is not a work of fiction, but I know you'll think it is....

I don’t know where to start because I don’t know where it began. I think I’ll try to explain why it happened, or why I think it happened. It started when there was this game. I wanted to play it. I had found out about on the internet and I was looking forward to it. I’m not going to tell you the name of the game, I don’t want you to make the same mistakes I did.

This game, I was really excited about it and looking forward to it but two days before the release date it had been declared banned in the states, and the next day it seemed had been wiped off the internet. I couldn’t find anything about it, for a week or two I continued to try and find something about it, then when all hope seemed lost I found it on ebay at a set price of 23.52$ at the time I didn’t think much about the strangely specific cost or that it should of been much more being a banned game, all’s I cared was that I was going to get the game, plus for a reasonably lesser cost, than it was going to cost when it came out.

The System told me it would arrive in 23 hours and 52 minutes. This time I noticed the extremely strange specificness of it, but I did not make connection. I don’t really know if it arrived that exact time or not, but I had it by the end of the next day, and that’s all that mattered. It came in a black cardboard box. When I opened the box, I was almost surprised to see it was in perfect condition. The box art, the disk, it was all fine, the plastic was even still on it.

I was so excited I ran to my Xbox and ripped off the plastic, opened the box and shoved the disk in the tray. The Xbox started up with it’s familiar humming noise, but it seemed to last for much longer than usual and I think it got a bit louder towards the end. The game played normally up until around 11:50 or so. It was a cutscene one of my allies turned to me and his lips began to move but for a second no sound came out and then he said “behind you” in voice that didn’t match what he usually sounded like and the lip sync was terrible.

Then my live account was signed out saying that I had logged in on another console. Causing the game to have to be closed out. I was confused because I had never signed in on another console. I had just gotten the live account a few weeks ago. I was worried that I might been hacked somehow. But never the less I signed back in. It then told me that “Dont_Play_Me” had signed in. I didn’t have any friends on live that were called that, and knew none my friends would pay to change their account to that. If only I had listened.

I had the thought, what if...somehow the game was trying to talk to me? I realised that this idea was absurd and that it was late, and that my mind was playing tricks on me so I went to bed. After work the next day I decided to play the game again. When I got on my Xbox it told me that “PleaseNotAgain” was logged on. This creeped me out, but I decided that one of my friends must have just been screwing around and changing his name to fuck with people. So I went on to play the game.

The game ran perfectly for a few hours, with no more strange sign in’s. I had convinced myself that nothing was wrong. But then while I was in the middle of playing I heard a sound clip play it said “You... you...YOU! YOU HORRID LITTLE HE-” it was cut off before it ended. I think the voice was Eggmans from sonic. I wondered why this played because this game wasn’t even made by Sega. I checked to the time and it was 11:52.

Then “StopPlayingNow!!!” Signed in, and sent me message with a voice clip. I listened to the clip and I heard a girl crying and begging me to stop. I closed out messanger and went back to game I saw I was now in a level I wasn’t in before I had checked the message. It was a large house. I walked around and found what looked like an unfinished model of an NPC when I went to talk to it another clip played saying “This is your fault. I'm going to kill you.” Then I heard static and it continued “You don't even care, do you?” I was very scared at this point, The NPC then proceeded to attack me, but it only took one hit to kill it, and it let out a horrible female scream when it died.

I figured this might be the game getting interesting? Although it didn’t seem to match the rest of the game, I went on playing out of curiosity. I found my way to the door of the house and left, while the game was loading. I was told that I signed in on another console yet again, and was booted to the Xbox DashBoard. Then “NEVERAGAIN” Signed in. I couldn’t bring myself to play anymore, so I stopped, and went to bed.

I decided to try and text my friend Kyle, telling him I knew it was him changing his name over and over, I figured it must be him because he always loved playing pranks. I don’t even know how I explained the rest of what been happening to myself, I guess I was just in denial. But somehow my phone wasn’t getting service. I decided I would have to use the Xbox to tell him the joke was up. I turned on my Xbox the game starting up automaticly. It started me back at my last checkpoint, before I was sent to the house. Then “You_Should_Of_Stoped” signed in. I decided to send the account a message because I was sure it was Kyle. I typed “Kyle, I know it’s you, the jokes over. Fuck off.” I sent it.

Then I was immediately spammed with at least hundreds of messages with sound clips of a girl screaming. Saying things “Why don’t you stop!?” and “It hurts so much!!!”. I closed out messenger and I won’t lie I screamed. I was surrounded by those Disfigured models, a voice clip played saying “Suffer, like G did.” This time the Npcs over powered my character and killed him. When I respawned I was surrounded by those Npcs this time even more strange and distorted I ran, and they chased me. A sound clip played saying “Run Coward”.

The Npcs caught up to me and then the screen went black and then a text box opened saying “It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.” Then “You’ve_Killed_Her.” signed in. Then to my horror on the screen was a picture of a girl about my age, striped and chained to a wall covered in gaping, bleeding cut’s, and the numbers 23 and 52 carved into her body. The Xbox turned off and I saw it now had the Red Ring of Death. Not long after thinking these events over I realised my xbox was an elite and couldn’t of gotten the Ring. But at this point this was the least of my worries. When I checked the time I saw it 12:00 so when the Xbox said you killed her...it must of been 11:52.

I broke the disk in half and threw it away along with my Xbox. I honestly will never pick up a game again. I still don’t know who that girl was. Or why this happened...I most likely never will.

so this story is pretty creepy but it intrests me like I find it popping into my head at random times. I was hoping to see others reply but they didnt. I really wanna hear more about this topic.
