Are you using XSplit for free or as a premium license?

obs is less taxing on a computers cpu then xsplit is. i run a 6core amd and with xsplit i was almost running 100% while with obs i run at around 60%. mind you obs is still in beta stage but with obs you automatically get AAC audio and unlimited scenes with xsplit you have to pay for AAC audio and only get 12 scenes. i prefer obs over xsplit now and several casters have changed to obs.

I would say OBS. I'm actually using OBS now for my streaming and it's actually a lot easier than XSplit in my opinion. XSplit to me is dead since you get crap sound quality and video unless you pay for it, plus other good features are locked unless you buy it. With OBS you can stream in HD and get smooth streaming with little to no lag, for free.

You have 0.8 upload? wow, that isn't good. You need to keep your upload at around 550/kbps then another 50-ish for audio. You absolutely CANNOT cast HD with any amount of success. You will have to lower your 16:9 1280x720 to something more like 640x360 so it looks good and not choppy with loss everywhere.

Regardless with that upload you will have a haze. And are you using DSL? Because now we're talking sucky ping, too with jitter. This is kind of why I was asking you before you built a casting PC what your internet was. Having a great PC for streaming is not useful if you can't upload an HD stream due to your internet.

your ping in ok (not DSL) but you are not going to be able to upload an HD stream with that connection. Talk to Shyboy about his settings, perhaps. He does a good job with his limited internet.

Hey SupaFreakAJ, I also have about .8 Mb upload and here are my settings in Xsplit,

    Resolution : 768 x 432
    Frame Rate : 15 fps
Audio Encoding - Codec : ACC LC LQ. Bitrate (kbps) : 64. Format : 44.1 KHz stereo

When nothing is happing in the game these setting will just about use .25 to .3 MBs, however as soon as there is alot happening in the game it bumps up to .7 to .8 Mbs. You can use higher Resolution/frame rate/Audio, but you will start to get lag as the in game action incresses.

I hope this helps you with your settings

I've switched to OBS also. Not having to pay for some options is a huge plus, but also some community members are making different plugins that will make alot of things way more easier. Like someone came up with a remote OBS controller. You can control your cast from a different PC. It's really cool.
